On Friday, July 12, the festivities will kick off at Ruby Foos Hotel, 7655 Decarie Blvd. with a Town Hall Meeting with the Prime Minister of Grenada, and a presentation by the Grenada Communal Credit Union. All are welcome. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Meeting will start at 6:30 sharp. All are welcome. Free Admission.

The Spice Island Cultural Day (SICDAQ) FESTIVAL is the official celebration of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique's entertainment, food, music, arts, products, sports and culture.
THE GOVERNMENT OF GRENADA RECOGNIZES & ENDORSES SICDAQ
The Government of Grenada in a letter dated November 2018 states: “The Government is satisfied with works and contribution that the Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec (SICDAQ) is making towards Grenada and most of all the promotion of who we are as a people”, writes Minister Norland Cox, Grenada’s Minister of Youth Development, Sports, Culture and The Arts”. “The Cabinet fully recognizes and endorses SICDAQ, their activities, plans and programs to promote and celebrate the heritage and cultures of Grenada in Quebec”, states Minister Norland Cox, Minister of Youth Development, Sports, Culture and the Arts in his letter to the President of SICDAQ.

On Saturday July 13, from 1:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Spice Island Cultural Day Extravaganza and Expo in the Vinet Park in Little Burgundy, features a day-long outdoor festival of cultural presentations including pan music, calypsonians, arts and craft vendors, Caribbean orchestras and entrancing singers and dancers. The whole shebang is anchored by tantalizing food from Grenada, Carriacou, Petite Martinique, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti.
Patrons will fully experience the tastes, sights and sounds of the Caribbean via tasty island dishes catered by local Celebrity Chefs. Entertainment by top Grenadian and other Caribbean Artists: Imagine…you can slip away on a Caribbean trip to the Spice Island without having to leave Montreal at all!

Joining SICDAQ in partnership is the GRENADA Communal Credit Union. They will be in Montreal for the Festivities on July 12 and July 13. Members of the Communal Credit Union will make a presentation on Friday, July 12 at the Town Hall Meeting and will be in Vinet Park on Saturday, July 13. Check out their booth.
“2018 was great for the first year, but 2019 promises to be even larger and greater”, says President Theodore H. Blaize. The organization is planning to welcome over 5,000 enjoying the food, music, arts and culture of the Spice Island: Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. With its 2019 theme “A TASTE OF THE SPICE ” patrons are promised the full fusion of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique's cuisine, along with other delicious Caribbean cuisine. This year we will offer a delicious Tea Tent featuring the Spice Teas of the Caribbean, a Vendors Market place with everything from clothes to arts and crafts, a children’s corner with face painting, bouncy castles and more.
