Grenada’s Gastronomical Delights Return to Montreal for the 2022 Spice Island Cultural Festival

Back from a two-year hiatus, the Little Burgundy event promises to attract thousands of Grenadian-Canadians and friends of the Spice Islands — July 9 at Parc Vinet

We would like to invite you, your family and all your friends to join us back at Vinet Park on Saturday, July 9 from 1pm to 10pm for the spiciest and largest Spice Island Cultural Festival Montreal has ever seen. Featuring Calypsonians Scholar, KennyC, Doggies, Kyng Moses, Bonifide, Jab Jab Band, Delta Antoine, Salah Pan, Fashion show from Stringz & Thingz and Mad Fashions, Caribbean Voices, Paris, Zina, MelloG, West Can Dancers, DJ 20 and DJ Percy and more, more, more – 10 hours of pure fun and entertainment.  Guess what’s closing the Festival night – the Montreal Complement Circus – Live Music, Acrobats and a 50-foot steel person! A Grenadian Festival not to be missed.

The Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec (SICDAQ) is proud to celebrate the music, food and culture of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique at the 5th annual Spice Island Cultural Festival on July 9 and 10.

Named “the world’s first Culinary Capital” by the World Food Travel Association (WFTA), Grenada’s cuisine is the focus of this year’s festival theme, Grenada – A Culinary Delight!

 On Sunday, July 10 – Join us for the biggest Oil Down Fete at Greenz Restaurant and Parking Lot from 4pm to 9pm., with 6 visiting Grenadian Chefs – 3 coming directly from Grenada; Executive Celebrity Chef Belinda Bishop of Flavours of Grenada and her team which will include her Sous-Chef Miguel Paul Mitchell and the winner of the GTA Young Chef Competition, Chef Karim Doyle. They promise to make the sweetest authentic Oil Down Montreal has ever seen.  Chef Leo Charles of Greenz Restaurant and Chef Anthony Mair, President of the Grenada Culinary Network in Toronto will also be on hand to assist with the making of the Oil Down, Grenada’s National Dish. Can you taste it???

 Also coming to cook for you from Island Flava Restaurant in Ottawa, on July 10, will be Grenadian Chef Lennox Antoine. Chef Antoine will be making his special Grenadian style (red, yellow and green) Roti shells on the spot with his famous curry chicken.  Food for days….

The famous Grenadian Rum Punch with 473 Rum and introduction of some Grenadian Vintage Wines, all coming straight from Grenada, will be there for the tasting and your enjoyment.

Ridealong Live from New York, Mr. Junior George, will be there to capture everything for Grenadians to enjoy all over the world.

Featuring Grenada’s Wall Street Food (including BBQ Pig Tail), music by DJ20 and fun for the entire family, as we open our 2022 Summer Festival Season.
